Are you wondering when is the best time to start litter training your kitten, and how to go about doing it? Fortunately, cats and kittens are naturally fastidious creatures, and they have a natural tendency to use the litter box.

Unfortunately, if they start doing it in the wrong spot, it can be difficult to get them to move their activities to the litter box.

Why? Because your kitten thinks that the place to pee is the place where she smells her urine. So, if the first place she went was someplace inconvenient like your pillow…

This is the reason you should always have a good way to completely get rid of cat urine smells. An enzymatic cleaner like Nature’s Miracle is very handy when you start litter training a kitten. Sprinkle cat litter over the soiled spot then wipe it up with damp tissue paper. After that, use the cleaner to thoroughly clean the area where your kitten did its business.

You do not want to immediately throw away the soiled litter. Place the cat poop/pee in your kitten’s litter box, then bring her to it. Do not rub her nose in the soiled litter. However, use her paws to gently dig at the litter to show her how to bury her poo. Just be patient and she will eventually get the idea.

The best cat litter to use at this stage is probably sand or a non-clumping clay cat litter. Some cat owners say they have good results with crystal litter, but some people are a bit nervous about using this type of litter for kittens.

When Do You Start Kitten Litter Training?

Generally, you can start to litter train your kitten once she is 4 to 6 weeks old. In most cases, her mother will teach her how to use the litter box. Your kitten might be a fast learner, and learn to use her litter box in just a week. Or she might take more than a month. This is one reason why you should not adopt a kitten less than 3 months old. Her litter training and socialization is not yet complete, and she will likely show other behavior problems in the future.

Of course, you do not always have a choice. For example, if you adopt an orphaned kitten, you may have to take the place of her mother. It helps a lot if you already have an adult cat who is already litter trained. Your kitten will tend to follow the older cat’s example.

If you bought your kitten from a breeder, you should ask for some of your kitten’s poop and soiled litter. Although it sounds gross, this can be really helpful in litter training a kitten. You also need to get the same kind of cat litter the breeder uses as well as the same kind of litter box. These are just some shortcuts to speed up the kitty litter training process.

Litter training your kitten need not be difficult. However, you do need to be loving and patient with your kitten. You also need to immediately and thoroughly clean up any accidents.

Litter Box Train Your Cat
It is important to be very patient during the litter training process, as cats will not respond to commands like dogs will. If you see your kitten scratching or squatting, pick her up right away and place her in the litter box.

                                                             Litter Box Training: The Basics
You will not need to train your kitten to use the litter box in the same way that you would housebreak a puppy. However, it is important to make sure your kitten knows the location of the litter box in her new surroundings.

The Basics Of Caring For A Kitten
Some people find that litter training a kitten is quite easy. Most cats seem to be drawn to the litter box and need little or no assistance at all. However, some cats can be particularly difficult.

Litter Box Training For Your New Kitten
Most kittens are fairly easy to litter train and will generally begin to use a litter tray soon after being introduced to one. Your new cat may already know how to use a litter pan, since many kittens learn to use it from watching their mother.

                                                             Kitten Litter Training
If you plan on bringing home a new kitten it’s important to do some reading about litter box training. Granted it isn’t the most fun topic, but it is important to understand some of the basics ahead of time.

Cats make wonderful pets, they’re soft, cuddly and affectionate without being overbearing and they don’t require too much maintenance. In fact they’re almost perfect except for one thing - the litter box. While most cats will use the litter box with little or no training it can be a smelly and messy area in the home but it doesn’t have to be that way. Here are five tips that will help keep your cat’s litter box smelling and looking great.

1. Make sure you have enough of them. Cats like to have a clean litter box and some of them can be a little quirky about the way they use it so you should have at least one litter box per cat. Now this doesn’t mean that each cat will have its own litter box they’ll probably use all the litter boxes some may like to only urinate in one and defecate in another while others won’t like to use litter boxes that other cats have used - you really won’t know until you watch your cats and see how they behave and then you can decide what works best for them. It’s also not a bad idea to have an extra litter box if you have the room. If your house is more than one floor you’ll want to consider having at least one litter box on each floor.

2. Keep it clean. The biggest reason that cats will use the litter box is that it’s full. You wouldn’t want to dig around in a bunch of clumped up pee and poop would you? Well, neither does your cat so you should be sure to keep his litter box clean. Be sure to scoop it at least once a day and totally change it out and wash it every week. This will cut down on the litter box smell as it is actually the bacteria that’s causing the smell and, remember, even if you can’t smell it your cat probably can, so keeping it clean is important if you want to keep your cat using the box.

3. Use a litter your cat likes. If your cat refuses to use the litter box, it might simply be the litter. Try using different types to find out what the cat seems to like best. unscented litter is your best bet and kittens under four months should use a non-clumping letter only. I personally like a clumping litter that is made out of wheat which is called "Swheat Scoop" and is all-natural and biodegradable and doesn’t have all that dust that clay litters have - and my cat likes it too!

4. Make it private. Just like you, your cat wants to feel relaxed and comfortable when he’s using his litter box so you want to put it in a place away from noisy areas that has a little bit of privacy. Make sure it’s not anywhere where something might happen that could frighten the cat away. Also, do not put the litter box near their food and water dishes.

5. Proper introduction. Young kittens already have the instinct to use something that can be raked as their litter, but they might find that your plants or other things in your house are just as convenient as a litter box. Until your kitten gets used using a litter box and only the litter box, you might want to limit where they can go so that the litter box is the only appealing place for him to do his business. If you bring a new cat into your house, confine him to a small area that has his food, water, bedding and litterbox. Once he has used the litter box several times and you feel comfortable it’s the only place he wants to go in, you can widen his range and slowly move the litter box to where you eventually want it placed. Once you find a spot for the litter box keep it there always.

Having a litter box is a necessity if you have a cat, but keeping the area clean and introducing your cat to the box properly can make this part of cat ownership a breeze.

Let me guess, your kitten is not using the litter box and it’s driving you crazy. If so continue to read and you will learn some real helpful tips.

Litter training kittens is not because the kitten does not like you, it’s because you are not kitten educated and it really makes you and your cat frustrated. Litter training kittens can become a little frustrating but don’t worry here are some tips to keep in mind:

1. First and foremost you need to understand that a kitten learns how to use the litter when its mother teaches it how to do so. So now the mother kitten is not around, so that leaves you to teach your kitten how to train your kitten

2. Never place your litter box in the bathroom unless you have nowhere else to place it. Also do not place your kittens litter box in any busy place at your home, it does nothing but makes your cat feel uncomfortable.

3. Use great litter! If this is not new to you then you have nothing to worry about it, for those who use really dusty cheap litter, stop it now. It does nothing but hurts your cats lungs and the texture does not feel great your kitten.

4. Do not use scented litter! Yeah I know it smells good to you but you are not the one that has to use that area to go potty. Scented litter turns your kitten away from it because they want to smell themselves in there litter. It complicates the whole going to potty for the cat.

5. Empty the litter box completely once a month at least. This by itself will make litter training kittens much easier. Just dump the litter in a handy trash bag. Do not use any type of strong home cleaners to clean your kittens litter box.

6. Use a cat spray! Most cat owners don’t really know that there are sprays on the market that help you attract your cat to there litter box, check your local pet store and see which one will be best for you.

Author: Jovan Johnson

7. Get cat training book! Here’s a great Cat training book that I strongly recommend. It will teach how train your cat to use the litter box guaranteed! Its a really great book check it out. And not only will you learn litter training but you will learn how to solve any cat training problem in a couple days!

Clay Cat Litter

As you can see, you are spoiled for choice when litter training a kitten. You can use clay cat litter, clumping cat litter, crystal cat litter or even biodegradable cat litter. For kittens, clay is probably the best and safest choice.

Tips for dealing with cat litter box problems.

The most difficult part of solving inappropriate elimination problems is figuring out the cause.

Unfortunately, cats are extremely sensitive to change - and if your cat had been consistently eliminating in the litter box and then suddenly stopped, something has changed whether you are aware of it or not.

So the objective is to figure out what’s changed.

Here are a couple of things to think about:

The most important thing to consider when trying to figure out what caused the house soiling problem is: Approximately when did this behavior start?

2nd most important: Are you certain it’s not a health issue such as an Urinary Tract Infection? (The #1 symptom of an UTI is sudden litter box avoidance)

Here are a few other questions to consider that will help you pinpoint the cause:

Did anything at all change near the time when the behavior started? (Try to think of everything, no matter how miniscule it seems)

Have you recently moved to a new house?

Did you recently introduce a new cat/dog/ferret/roommate into your home?

Have any of the litter boxes been moved? (Maybe he or she tends to routinely use one certain box and that particular one was moved)

Did you rearrange or add any new furniture to your house?

Are you 100% sure this cat is the one not using the box?

Are any of your cats not getting along?

Inter-cat tension is actually a lot harder to spot than most owners realize. Your cats may not be physically fighting with each other, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are getting along. One cat may even be "silently" intimidating another, but the owner isn’t aware of it.

If you’re sure you know which cat isn’t using the litter box, and you know which litter box that cat typically uses, keep an eye out to see if any of your other cats are spending extra time "hanging out" near that box.

If you have any covered litter boxes, pay close attention to any cats that tend to sit on top of the litter box.

One surefire method of retraining a stubborn cat is to put the cat in a nearly empty room for a day or two, with only a few toys, a scratching post, water, a bed and a litter box.

Use this technique to house train your cat and don’t allow free access to the rest of the house until the cat is completely retrained and no longer eliminates outside of the litter box.

Some people are shocked when they realize just how many things can cause a house soiling problem. What they don’t realize is that a cat’s bathroom habits are actually a very complex and delicate piece of a cat’s life, and it can be easily disturbed.

The first thing was to get a Cat Training Kit that has been around forever and that has a proven track record. I chose Kitty Whiz because my parents used it for our cat when I was growing up and my son recently used it for his cat with great success.

My cat, Oscar, isn’t the brightest of cats, so I didn’t want to fool around with one of those Johnny-come-lately imitations. Plus, they are all so over-priced! One is about $90.

Anyway, my experience in training Oscar paralleled instructions in the kit. Oscar always needed more love with everything because he’s a little slow. I figure that if Oscar can get it, any normal cat can.

The Kitty Whiz package included a bag of herbs, a plastic form, a clever cartoon style instruction booklet and a diploma for when Oscar graduated. The diploma was a nice touch and it gave me a confidence boost.

There were standard warnings. And Oscar was to have been litter trained already. Warnings could be summed up as good sense. My personal advice here is to schedule a little me-time to do this thing right. You can’t be jet-setting around the world or working 168 hours a week on a corporate merger.

The process was to take about 2 weeks. I lost track of time, but it was about that for Oscar to get into the groove.

There was a recommendation to use a padded toilet seat cover for off-balance cats and Oscar qualified because he is pretty clumsy. The poor thing stumbles over his own shadow.

Kitty Whiz divided their training into stages. Everything I personally did was covered in the instructions. I do have additional recommendations, which you will read.

STAGE 1

I took Oscar into the spare bathroom where nobody would bother him. Remember to start this training in the evening because your cat will need to stay in the restroom overnight so they will do their first poops and pees.

While Oscar was meowing around, I put the form together. It was simple so don’t be alarmed.

I chose to train Oscar with the toilet seat down because I thought it was safer and it is usually down anyway. The padded lid stayed up. I figured that the more routine things were, the better.

I then took the old litter box out to the shed so Oscar couldn’t find it and he would be focused on his new toilet facility. Good riddance to that smelly thing. Now my husband will hope for Oscar’s success so he can get rid of the litter box in his tool shed.

Per instructions, I filled the bowl part of the form with regular litter so it looked similar to Oscar’s regular litter box. This made for a smoother transition. A slow smooth transition is the key in my opinion.

Since Oscar had been known to poop and pee in everything resembling nature, I covered my houseplant soil with aluminum foil where possible and rocks where possible.

In the restroom where Oscar was training, I put his bowls with his favorite food and fresh water. Any place with food is a good place to Oscar.

I opened the herb package and took a whiff. It did nothing for me and I felt no sudden urge to use Kitty Whiz myself, but Oscar responded. He followed the package as I led him up onto the toilet seat.

I sprinkled a little on the litter and Oscar sniffed around. This was to help Oscar take note of where his new kitty litter box was now located.

It was a little heartbreaking, but I closed Oscar in his restroom for the night. He needed to poop in peace, and he doesn’t like for anyone to interrupt his work. Instructions mentioned that cats are that way.

In the morning I checked on Oscar and he was perfectly content and maybe a little too proud. The litter was saturated with pee and there was a healthy mound of poop.

There are instructions for cat owners who may not be as successful at this stage as I was with Oscar. But, neither my parents nor my children had any problems.

I read over the steps to take if one is unsuccessful. They boil down to doing things over, keeping things real clean and encouraging one’s cat with love and finesse. Oscar may not have been blessed with smarts, but he was blessed with a loving family. I’m sure your cat also has a loving home environment.

STAGE 2

I was glad to move on to the next stage because Oscar was leaving me with mounds of love each day. I was anxious to flush instead of clean up litter. I think Oscar was laughing at me during this stage. He always had a slightly twisted sense of humor.

After four days, Oscar was accustomed to using his new litter box on top of the toilet. So, I saw the principle involved here. I gradually removed parts of the plastic form until nothing was left. After about two weeks, Oscar was going into the restroom all by himself and using the toilet like a regular human.

This is my own personal touch to the toilet system. I secured the toilet seat lid so it was always in the up position. Otherwise, someone might leave it down. I also had the door fixed so it was always open enough for Oscar to walk through. I did these two things to make sure Oscar was never prevented from doing his work.

Nowadays, it is quite humorous to see Oscar get up from his favorite TV program and wander off to use the restroom. My only responsibility lately is to flush the toilet. Maybe Kitty Whiz will someday invent a way to train Oscar to flush the toilet.

I think Oscar was proud to officially join the human race as a toilet user. He always knew he was human, but it was good to have official recognition in the form of a degree. We gave him a graduation party and presented him with his Kitty Whiz Degree. He wore a blue winner ribbon and we framed his degree and photo together and hung them in his office, right above the toilet.

Here is my personal testimony about Kitty Whiz as opposed to other cat trainers:

I remember Kitty Whiz from the 1970s. It was around a long time before other cat toilet training systems. It is proven and trusted in my family. And I know other families that used it with success and I recommend it to first-timers. I’ve seen many imitations on the market lately and they are usually way over priced. I saw one for about $90 dollars. All I can say is, Get real!

I trained Oscar for less than $20 and got quick delivery from an online pet store named Bluejayz Pet Supplies.

If you have problems with cat urine smell, either because of a cat not using its litter box, or because of urine marking, don’t panic! There are some simple tips on how to remove cat urine. However just because you remove the stains and the cat urine smell, it doesn’t get to the heart of the problem. If you don’t find out why it is doing it your cat will probably continue with this behavior

Before we get to the clean-up lets try to find out why your cat is doing this. There could be many different reasons why your cat is not using its litter box, and urinating in different places around the house. It may simply be marking its territory, or it may be more serious and be caused by a medical problem. If you suspect the latter then you should take it to a vet for a urine analysis, and an overall check-up, just to make sure there is not a medical reason for its behavior.

Another reason for a cat not using its litter box is because cats can be very shy when it comes to going to the toilet. Cats enjoy their privacy, especially when they are doing their business. Make sure that you have more than one litter box for your cat, and always place it in a quiet spot away from people and other animals. You may find by simply doing this that it will start to use the litter box, and stop leaving that nasty cat urine smell all over the house.

There are several tips on how to remove cat urine, and the use of white vinegar seems to be a popular one. After soaking up as much of the urine as you can with paper towels, (don’t rub, as this will only push the urine further in,) mix two parts warm water with one part distilled white vinegar. Apply the mixture to the stained area and this time rub it well in. Allow the area to dry, and then go over it again using just warm water.

Once the affected area is fully clean and dry, you should use a high quality pet odor neutralizer; (available at pet supply stores) this will get rid of any lingering smell and so should stop your cat from re-offending in the same place

This is just one method of how to remove cat urine, there are many more home made remedies as well as some very good commercial products available at pet shops. However never use anything with ammonia for removing cat urine odors, as the urine itself contains ammonia and this will only attract your cat to mess in the same place again.

Cleaning Cat Urine
It is certainly a very tedious task for any cat owner to clean the cat urine. The cat urine smell or odor is very bad and also lefts stains on the floor, which is very difficult ot remove.

Cleaning Up Cat Messes
Cleaning Cat Urine Cat urine is particularly stinky and it gets worse the longer it sits. This is because bacteria begin feeding on the organic waste in the urine, which converts it to gases.

Cleaning The Cat Urine Box
Are you having fun yet with the cleaning the cat urine box routine? We all love our pets and get a lot of fun and enjoyment from them. But I hate cleaning the litter (I mean urine) box.

Cleaning Cat Urine
People often consider their dog or cat to be an integral part of the household. With the joy of having a pet also comes a great deal of responsibility which can include cleaning cat urine and dog urine.

Cleaning Cat Urine out of plywood?
Cat urine is so strong and so hard to get out of everything. I would replace the wood especially if the cat will still be around.

I Hate Cleaning Cat Urine Box
With the joy of having a pet also comes the responsibility of cleaning cat urine box. It definitely not a chore I like to do. However, it’s essential. Fortunately, most cats don’t need to be litter trained.

There may be more than one cause of a cat litter box problem, but they come from one of two categories. If you’ve read my article on the physical causes of this dilemma, then you already know that this problem is either physical, or behavioral.

Since your cat can’t tell you what’s going on, you have to rule out each possible cause, until you are left with the most logical answer. This is known as a diagnosis of exclusion.

You’ll need help from your vet on this one, since you’ll want to first rule out any physical cause. It’s always best to assume your cat has a physical problem until your vet proves you wrong.

Once your vet says your cat’s problem does not have a physical cause, then you assume that your litter box problems are behavioral. Let’s see if we can think of some behavioral reasons for why your cat won’t use the litter box.

1. Dirty Box - some cats will use a dirty box without complaining, but others are fussy. In any case, clean your litter box at least once per day. You should change your litter at least every few weeks, unless it gets too dirty more quickly than that. Whenever you change the litter, wash and dry the litter box thoroughly. If you have a hooded box, be sure to wash the lid also.

2. Box Odor - some cats will refuse to use a litter box if it doesn’t smell right. Remember, that means smell right to the cat, not to you. You might be thinking that your clean box smells just fine. This is not always the case.

If you don’t clean the box well enough, your cat will know. If you don’t rinse thoroughly, or use a scented cleaner, your cat may detect a smell that says don’t go in there. You should use a solution of one part bleach to 30 parts water to sanitize the box. When you’re finished, the box should be clean and dry, and not smell like cat waste, bleach, or soap.

3. Litter Smells Bad - certain cat litters don’t agree with certain feline noses. Unscented litters of varying brands have an odor all their own, and your cat may not like it. Different types of litter have unique odors as well. You may have to try different brands or types until you get it right.

4. Wrong Litter Type - brand aside, your cat may be turned off by the type of cat litter you use. Switching litter types too fast can be an issue. When you switch litters, add 20 percent new litter to 80 percent old, and then increase the amount of new litter over several days.

5. Wrong Litter Box Type - the type of box, including the shape and size may matter. Some cats may like a hooded box, while others prefer the open type. Things like higher or lower walls, or a larger box may be preferred. If you’ve recently changed litter boxes, this could be your problem.

6. How Many Boxes? - another cause of a cat litter box problem relates mainly to multi-cat households. Remember the one plus one rule when selecting how many boxes you’ll need. You should have one box for each cat, and one extra box so that there is never any waiting for a box to free up. Cleaning chores are a little easier if you have more boxes since that keeps each box a little cleaner.

7. Bad Location - this can be an issue since in some cases, you just can’t find a good spot for the box. I’ve seen them in busy and noisy areas like laundry rooms and kitchens. If your cat is not pleased with the location of the box, she may stop using it. Always try to keep the box in an area that is low traffic and low noise.

8. Territorial Battles - territorial arguments are common in multi-cat households, and usually of no consequence. Some cats, however, like to sneak up on others when they’re using the box and pounce. If one of your cats is attacked every time he’s in the box, he may develop litter box aversion. Follow the one plus one rule for multi-cat households.

9. Stress - stress is a leading cause of box aversion. If your cat is stressed by a life event, such as a recent move or a new addition to the household, this may be the cause of the problem. One of my readers found out the hard way that one family member was trying the wrong form of behavior modification on one of their cats. The result was a litter box issue. Try to think about what might have changed recently in your cat’s life, and then try to reduce or eliminate the stress.

Cat litter box problems can usually be solved, once you know the cause. The solution doesn’t have to mean getting rid of the cat. Your veterinarian needs to first rule out physical causes so you can tackle the behavior side of things. Think like a cat, and you’ll be able to solve your box problems.

Are you fed up with that cat urine smell all over the house? Are you frustrated by your cat constantly marking their territory with urine? If you answered yes to these questions, then you should be potty training your cat! Urine marking is the most effective way for your cat to mark its territory, which sends a message to other cats that he has claimed this territory as his.

Potty training your cat is the best way to avoid this urine marking. It not only stops you from having to put up with that cat urine smell all over the house, but it will also give your cat a proper sense of toilet routine. If a cat is new to your house, then allow it to explore the place freely, but keep it indoors for about ten days. Provide more than one litter box, and if you live in a multi-storey house, then you should have a litter box on each floor.

If you have more than one cat, there should be at least one more litter box than there are cats.

Cats are shy toileters so try to place the litter boxes in quite areas of the house, away from family members and any other animals. Make sure that the litter box is partially filled with an even layer of commercial cat litter, and remove soiled litter daily. It should also be totally emptied and cleaned with a safe disinfectant at least twice a week. If your cat does mess in parts of the house where it shouldn’t, then don’t rub his nose in it. Your cat will not understand why you are doing this; in fact punishing your cat like this will frustrate him and stunt his learning, making it even harder to train him.

As well as providing a good number of clean well placed litter boxes around the house, you should also make sire that your cat has an unlimited supply of fresh drinking water. Cats are prone to a urinary disease, which is a complaint where large crystals form in the cat’s bladder. These then become lodged in the cat’s urethra which restricts the flow of urine, causing the cat to become very ill.

So by potty training your cat and making sure that it has plenty of clean drinking water, you are not only getting rid of that cat urine smell all over the house, you are also helping your cat to stay healthy. And a healthy cat is a happy cat. For more great tips and advice on cat training visit our site at: http://www.BuyTryReview.com/category/pets.

Owning a cat is fun of course! However when it comes to the cute kitty’s potty needs, some training is necessary if you don’t want "surprises" all over the place. The article below shows practical ways to show your cat or kitten the way to the litter box.

Many people think that owning a cat is so much fun, you get to have an animal that loves you so much and you won’t even have to get yourself dirty when it comes to the cute kitty’s potty needs….boy, oh boy, are you in for a surprise?!

The phrase, "house cats train themselves" is not true. It is true that it is in their instincts to go to the bathroom in a spot that is sandy or soft so that they can cover their mess; that soft place might be your living room rug or the laundry basket just as much as it could be their litter box…in their eyes that is; it might take a lot of training and a lot of patience to get your furry little friend to go where he is supposed to…meaning the litter box.

First, get a litter box that is big enough for the cat, or kitten; something that he will be able to get into and out of easily. It needs to be big enough so that he can move around and get comfortable without getting lost in the process.
Put a couple of inches of cat litter in the box.

Note: do not use wood shavings, the little blue crystals (even if they are pretty), and try to avoid the all natural stuff because they makes the cleaning up a lot more difficult then it should be…although most people do not recommend this, get the litter that clumps real well ( this is usually the cheaper stuff). Now before you write me off as a freak just listen…put a couple of inches of litter into the litter box and get a little bag of lava rocks (you can find them at Wal-Mart), set the bag next to the litter box and you will have no problems with smell. Of course other people have different ways of dealing with the smell, this is what I use, and it works.

Now that you have the litter box all ready, it is time to place it somewhere that the cat will like and that means a place that is quiet and out of the way of everyday traffic ( I use a extra little bathroom that nobody uses); do not place the litter box around any bags of dry cat food that you might have because a cat is not going to go to the bathroom in the same place that his food is kept…cats are clean animals and they will not dirty their food or their bed.

The problem that you have to face now is the one of getting your cat to start using the litter box; that can be tricky especially if you are dealing with a small kitten that has just been taken away from his mother.

Kittens are sometimes taken away from their mommas too soon, which means that they do not have a role model to follow and they do not have anybody to show them what to do and how to do it; because of this, they need you to be there for them and to have a lot of patience with them because it is usually the little ones that have the most problems in learning to use the litter box…they can go for more then a month sometimes without using the litter box, it just takes that long.

Tip: Try using vinegar and some nice smelling oil to get the stain and the smell out of the carpet in places that your little friend has had accidents.

After you have gotten your cat to use the litter box regularly…if you want, you can even get him to start using the toilet, something that will save you a lot of money and effort. Just move the litter box a couple inches at a time (maybe every other week or so) until you have the litter box up on top of the toilet (seat down) let the cat get used to it, then there is a special box that you can hook on to the inside of the toilet, when your cat has gotten used to that and is using it without any problems then just remove the litter box.

If your cat starts having accidents then you know that you have moved too fast… and you will need to start from the beginning…
The kit costs about thirty bucks.
How to Litter Train a Cat
For most cat owners, training their cat to use the litter is a relatively painless process. It is among a cat’s natural instincts to eliminate in an area that they can cover their feces in.

How (tiger pictures) To Train Your Cat To Litter Correctly
A litter box is very important in training a cat especially if the cat will be trained to litter in a proper place. When choosing a litter box, the size of the box and the sides should be considered.

Kitten Toilet Training
Kitty litter training is just something you have to do, so choosing the best cat litter pans and a safe cat litter are vital.

Never clean a stinky, messy litter pan again!
